Program Offers Skills for Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families Programs, for families with children ages 10-14, is now accepting registrations. The sessions are designed to help youth handle frustration, resist peer pressure, appreciate parents/caregivers, and get along with others. The program includes family discussion and games, dinner, childcare, parent discussions, and youth activities.

Parents and caregivers discuss what youth are like at different ages, making rules and consequences, how to resolve problems with youth, and ways to show love and support.

The session begins on October 4th and will run for seven weeks. Families will meet on Thursdays from 530-745 at 317 W. Church Street (The Salvation Army).

The program is free, to register or find out more about the Strengthening Families Programs, please call 740-223-3075 or e-mail [email protected]

Funding for this program is provided by The United Way of Marion County.
