A husband and wife were selected as September and October Republicans of the Month by the Marion County GOP Central and Executive Committee. Margie Saull was named for September and Fred Saull for October.
A resident of Marion for 37 years, Margie was born in Delaware and graduated from Buckeye Valley High School. She holds an elementary education degree from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree from OSU in 1987. She retired in 2010 after 35 years with the Marion City Schools and a year in Buckeye Valley Schools.
Active in the community, Margie’s memberships include the Marion County Retired Teachers, George Washington Retired Teachers, Junior Service Guild, Phi Delta Kappa, Daughters of the American Revolution, Epworth United Methodist Church and its Preschool Board, Mobile Meals and holds life membership of The Ohio State University Alumni Association. She represents Green Camp on the GOP Central and Executive Committee, and holds memberships in the Republican Club and Republican Women’s Club. She was an honorary delegate to the August Republican Convention in Tampa.
Fred, a lifelong Marion resident, he is a graduate of Harding High School and in 1974 from The Ohio State University with a degree in elementary education, and he went on to receive a degree in elementary education administration. After 36 years in teaching and principalship with the Marion City Schools, he retired in 2010. Currently, he is principal of Elgin South Elementary in Prospect.
His community memberships includes Marion County Retired Teachers, the Ohio Association of Elementary School Principals, ASCD, Phi Delta Kappa, Alpha Sigma Phi, Epworth United Methodist Church and its Preschool Board, educational representative on the Marion County Regional Planning Committee, the Marion County Republican Club and a life member of the OSU Alumni Association. He attended the Republican Convention as an honorary delegate in Tampa.
The couple, who reside in Prospect, have two grown sons.
