The Marion Concert Band has been entertaining local audiences for five decades providing music in the pit at Palace and high school musicals and Music in the Park in the summers. The band, led by Bill Swihart, features 45 members and ranges in age from high schoolers to 85 years young.
This group of musicians makes their debut appearance in the Palace Theatre May Pavilion on Sunday, October 28 at 3 p.m. The Halloween themed “Spook-Session” concert will feature a “monster” selection of Big Band, Jazz, show tunes, folk music and spirited Halloween music including songs from Wicked, and a march entitled Phantom Regiment. The band will be dressed in Halloween costumes. They invite the audience to join the fun and wear costumes as well. Complimentary punch and cookies will be served after the performance.
Tickets are on sale now for $10. They may be purchased at the Palace box office, 276 W. Center St. in downtown Marion or by phone at 740/383-2101.
