Calling it a win-win event, Marion Technical College is inviting the community to drop off their old, unused, and obsolete electronics to be properly recycled. The proceeds from the recycling will go to the Marion Technical College’s Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) program.

Vernon Avenue, to the maintenance building (directional signs will be posted). Volunteers will unload your items, and off you go. When the Event is over, Acme Electronics Recycling will evaluate and weigh all items and, Marion Technical College will receive a check that will go toward the ABLE program.

This includes computers, laptops, keyboards and mice, printers, copiers, scanners, cable boxes, cables/wires/cords, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, exercise equipment, electronic toys, fans, fax machines, answering machines, telephones, cell phones, VCR and DVD players, digital cameras, camcorders, UPS battery backups, docking stations, power supplies, microwaves, small kitchen appliances, vacuums, game systems, hair care appliances, power hand tools, etc.

Acme Electronics Recycling does not export electronic materials overseas. Upon arrival at their plant, all electronic materials are manually and mechanically sorted, separated, cataloged and placed on a conveyor system. This begins the process of shredding, sorting, and preparing the materials into ready-to-use commodities: such as steel, aluminum, plastic, copper, etc. Nothing goes to a landfill-EVER.
