City Council Committee to Continue Annexation Discussion

The Zoning and Annexation Committee of Marion City Council will continue their discussion of a possible annexation of property owned by National Lime and Stone north of the City of Marion.

The Finance Committee will start off the evening of meetings on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Their meeting begins at 6:30pm and will include discussion over two budget transfers.

The only other meeting scheduled is the Zoning and Annexation Committee. They will meet at 6:40pm or immediately following the Finance Committee meeting. The only item on their agenda is the proposed annexation. Area residents are against the proposal over concerns that an expansion of the quarry could lead to damage to their property.

National Lime and Stone representatives say their operations are safe and have not resulted in property damage in the past. They say they operate within the required guidelines set forth by the State of Ohio.

Marion City Council Committee meetings are open to the public and take place on the second floor of City Hall.
