Tpr. Geoffrey S. Freeman was promoted to the rank of sergeant on Wednesday by Colonel John Born, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy. Sgt. Freeman will transfer from his current assignment at the Marion Post to serve as an assistant post commander at the Bucyrus Post.
Sgt. Freeman began his Patrol career in February 1999 as a member of the 133rd Academy Class. He earned his commission in July of that year and was assigned to the Marion Post, where he was selected as Post Trooper of the Year in 2008.
He resides in Marion with his wife, Dinah, and their two children; Megan, 9; and Kirk, 8.
