Marion Sheriff Boosting Traffic Patrols During Holidays

Marion County SheriffMarion County Sheriff Tim Bailey has announced that his office will be participating in a countywide traffic detail targeting speed and alcohol related violations for the upcoming holidays. Deputies will be conducting extra traffic enforcement and patrol now through New Year’s Day.

The extra enforcement is made possible by a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Governor’s Highway Safety Office for overtime traffic enforcement. These monies enable officers to work extra overtime hours during various dates throughout the year to curb impaired driving, speed, and seatbelt violations.

Deputies will be patrolling all local state routes, county and township roads, and village streets for these violations and will have a zero tolerance during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

Sheriff Bailey says he and his deputies are committed to keeping Marion County roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
