The Marion County Council on Aging will be hosting the first Caregivers Connections meeting of 2013 on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Caregivers Connections is a quarterly educational and support group for caregivers and others interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia.
The February meeting will feature guest speaker Tami Doyle. Doyle, who is Director of Memory Care and Adult Day Care at Kingston Residence of Marion, will speak about their adult day care program, explaining the admission process and the typical activities that are provided. She will discuss the benefits that adult day care provides for both participants and caregivers as well. Time permitting, Doyle will also explain her training as a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
This meeting is always held at the Council on Aging office, located at 125 Executive Dr. Lunch will be provided through the generosity of Kingston Residence of Marion.
There is no charge to attend Caregiver Connections, but reservations are limited and necessary. The deadline to register is Friday, February 1, 2013.
