Marion Palace TheatreAnn Schertzer & Company will present Now & Then at the Marion Palace Theatre’s May Pavilion in downtown Marion on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 8:00 pm.

The group plans to entertain with a variety of classic and contemporary music that spans the decades. Palace Theatre Executive Director, Bev Ford explains why the May Pavilion is the perfect venue to enjoy Ann Schertzer & Company.

“Ann has an amazing voice that can easily be described as captivating. Her vocals run the spectrum from sweet and smooth to powerful and passionate,” explained Ford. “The casual setting of the May Pavilion creates an up close experience for audience members as they relax to the music of Ann and her band mates.”

Joining Ann as she sings and plays piano will be guitarists Guy Schlicting, Rick Hudgel, and Matt Kelley.

Schertzer has a rich musical and performing arts background and is no stranger to audiences in the area.  She has appeared in several Palace musicals and stage plays, most recently, as a soloist during “Christmas at the Palace” and “Ice Cream Sunday.”

Her musical journey began with piano lessons in 8th grade, involvement with high school choirs performing as a vocalists and accompanist and continued with her education at Otterbein. Today, Ann teaches at Grant Middle School in the music program and is the director for the school’s upcoming musical, Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka Jr.”
