The Star Players of Upper Sandusky are announcing registration to their Star Kids Theatre Workshop for the 2013 season. Star Kids is a hands-on, educational theatre experience for workshop students. This will culminate in a showcase where students perform short skits, plays, or songs to show off what they have learned.
The workshop is open to children currently enrolled in 1st to 6th grade. Children residing in any county or school district are eligible.
The Players have hired Lori (McCreary) Lavery as director of the Star Kids workshop. Lavery has directed the workshop previously and also has a background in theatre, dance and education.
This year’s workshop will take place on Saturdays from 9am to 12:30 pm beginning April 27th and for one full week June 3rd to 7th. The showcase will be held on the evenings of June 7th and 8th.
Registration for this year’s children’s workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2013 at 7:00pm at the Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky. A parent or guardian needs to be present to fill out paperwork.
There is a $40 registration fee to cover the cost of t-shirts and materials. A discount is offered to any family registering more than one child in the same family. The fee is payable at the time of registration or the first workshop day. Financial help will be available to any student in need. A maximum of 35 children will be accepted into this year’s program.
