The Ohio State University at Marion will host its 6th Annual International Festival – A Taste of Culture on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 4:30-8:30 p.m., at the Alber Student Center on the Marion campus, 1465 Mount Vernon Avenue, Marion, Ohio
A Taste of Culture annually plays host to live entertainment, food from around the world, arts and crafts, a multitude of informational booths, and short educational discussions. This event brings together the customs, traditions, color, and flavor of peoples from diverse ethnicities. Admission for this annual event is free and open to the public.
Local vendors, restaurants, and community members will provide food samples representative of ethnic cuisines from across the globe. Donations are encouraged and will be accepted for purchase of food tickets to sample the food on hand. Proceeds from donations for food items will benefit minority scholarships at Ohio State Marion.
This year’s festival features special cultural presentations by Native American, Rainbow Eagle, Native American Folklore and Myths at 6 p.m. and Barbara Eady, who will present, African American Church Folklore at 7:45 p.m.
Entertainment will be provided by: Gil Garcia/Radio X, Kids at Heart Puppet Show, Diverse Moves, Bethlehem School of Dance, Nalanda School of Dance and an international fashion show
Among the cultures represented with food & artifacts at the event include: American, African American, Arabic, Argentinean, Celtic, Chinese, Cuban, Filipino, Ghanaian, Honduran, Indian, Italian, Kenyan, Mexican, Native American, Romanian, Scottish, & Togolese
