Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off is Saturday

RecyclingYou can rid your home of toxic waste at the DKMM Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Whirlpool Corporation on Marion-Agosta Road.

All residents of the DKMM (Delaware, Knox, Marion and Morrow) Solid Waste District can take advantage of this convenient opportunity to safely dispose of corrosives, flammables, and poisons such as household cleaners, pool chemicals, batteries, kerosene, automotive fluids, pesticides, propane cylinders, fertilizers, mercury, and ammunition (50 calibers or less).  Cell phones, computers, household electronics, televisions, fluorescent light bulbs and tires will also be collected, but absolutely NO paint.

DKMM will accept donations to help defray the cost of this event. Please note that there is mandatory charge for TVs and tires.

Proper paint disposal now simply involves drying the paint in the can or pouring it into a box or bag with kitty litter or shredded newspaper, and then disposing of the solid paint in your regular trash. Be sure to recycle the empty paint can.
