Sixth Baguette Run for Turning Point Called “Huge Success”

Baguette RunThe sixth annual Baguette 5K Run/Walk sponsored by Panera Bread for Turning Point had 285 finishing participants last Saturday, making it the largest 5K event in the area.  Starting the runners was Mayor Scott Schertzer and greeting them as they finished was Bob Nunnally, of Channel 4’s Storm Team.

The over-all winner of the event was Jake Hayes of Cardington who completed the 5K run in a time of 16:08.  His closest competitor in the male division was Jose Gonzales (17:40) followed closely by Jacob Connor (17:42) in third place.

In the women’s division first place went to Mishea Peltier with a time of 18:04. Rachel Connor was in second place (20:19) and third was secured by Shawna Hite (21:07).

In the under 14 age division it was Phillip Nicol in first for the men followed by Colin Chapman and Nick Kimmel.  For the women, first place Lauren English was followed by Alexis Mulvaine and Shelbey Lilly.

In the 15-19 age division it was Duvan Bautista in first for the men followed by Joshua Perkins and Wesley Bays.  For the women, first place Hannah Peltier was followed by Kenzie McKirgan and Bryanna Bolha.

In the 20-24 age division it was Mitch Augenstein in first for the men followed by Zackery Nicolosi and Kyle Price. For the women, first place Emily Caudill was followed by Rachel Schade and Mariah Stump.

In the 25-29 age division it was Tim Foster in first for the men followed by Ryan Bales and Travis Lane.  For the women, first place Bethany Parsell was followed by Amy Mazza and Jennifer McMahan.

In the 30-34 age division it was David Bloomfield in first for the men followed by Jamie Hart and Michael Hicks.  For the women, first place Jenni Myers was followed by Erin Combs and Amanda Smith.

In the 35-39 age division it was Geoff Freeman in first for the men followed by Chuck Deem and Brian Myers.  For the women, first place Ellie Anderson was followed by Dinah Freeman and Felicia Ketteman.

In the 40-44 age division it was Craig Rutherford in first for the men followed by Phil Lilly and Randy Garrison.  For the women, first place Wendy McKirgan was followed by Vicki Kimmel and Jill Frey.

In the 45-49 age division it was Jim Roth in first for the men followed by Joe Wink and Bryan Lee.  For the women, first place Kim Cooke was followed by Lorilei Lambers and Kathy Caudill.

In the 50-54 age division it was Lawrence Lewis in first for the men followed by Dave Peltier and Bill Barger.  For the women, first place Rosemary Wallace was followed by Kathleen Hill and Rhonda Jones.

In the 55-59 age division it was Bob Haas in first for the men followed by Bucky Schmelzer and Jeff Minner.  For the women, first place Patty Minner was followed by Beverley Knell and Sonia Haas.

In the 60-64 age division it was Mitch Libster in first for the men followed by Lyn Shirk and Vaughn Sizemore.  For the women, first place Patricia Lewis was followed by Kathy Caudill and Sue Katz.

In the 65 & Over division it was Doug Roberts in first for the men followed by Steve Jenkins and Paul Cole. For the women, first place Donna Lee was followed by Nancy Burdsall and Lorena Williams.

The last walker finished in just over an hour and following the run/walk, Panera Bread served the participants and volunteers bagels, fruit, water and coffee.  They also provided many gift certificates for door prizes.
