The Marion Palace Theatre will show the film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Long Island-set novel, “The Great Gatsby” on June 28, 29 and 30.
“The Great Gatsby” follows midwesterner Nick Carraway as he comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Nick settles next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and is soon lured into the lavish world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. In the end, however, Carraway will see the reality of Gatsby’s nouveau rich way of life, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
Academy Award® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jay Gatsby, with Tobey Maguire starring as Nick Carraway; Joel Edgerton and Oscar® nominee Carey Mulligan as Tom and Daisy Buchanan
