Bev Ford, Executive Director at the Marion Palace Theatre, has announced the recent election of new board members to the Palace Cultural Arts Association (PCAA) Board of Directors.
Six new members were elected to serve a three-year term on the PCAA Board. Joining the board are Jeff Baldauf, Owner of Baldauf Construction; Luke Henry, President of ProScape Landscaping; Sue Jacob, educator at River Valley Schools; Gary Pendleton, retired President of Ohio State Bank; Tom Schifer, Architect at GPD Group; and Mike Stuckey, Director of Student Services at Marion Technical College.
They will serve with current board members Dr. James Barney, Dan Dreher, Andy Harper, Scott Hoffman, Nancy Johnson, Rhea Kaiser, David Kasmenn, John Keggan, Jim Kennedy, Carolyn Kile, Scott Ruth and Dave Strzalka.
Candidates are selected by committee through a nomination process, presented to the PCAA board for a vote of approval and elected by a majority vote of PCAA members during the annual meeting in July. No board member may serve longer than 9 consecutive years.
The PCAA board is an 18-member volunteer board that meets on a monthly basis, whose work includes fulfillment of the PCAA mission: to foster appreciation, education and participation in the arts while preserving and promoting the historic Palace Theatre.
The Marion Palace Theatre originally opened its doors on August 30, 1928 and is one of the few remaining John Eberson-designed atmospheric theatres in the world today. In 1976, the Marion Palace Theatre was entered in the National Register of Historic Places. Following restoration and renovation, the theatre was reopened in 1976 under the auspices of the Palace Cultural Arts Association (PCAA), a non-profit organization.
