Police Arrest Man for Stabbing

Marion Police DepartmentThe Marion Police Department says a man was arrested on Friday, August 23, 2013 for stabbing another man in the 500 block of North State.

Police and Marion City Fire Department medics arrived on the scene at 1:50pm. Upon their arrival, they found a male had been stabbed in the side.

The man was transported to Marion General Hospital with injuries described as “non-life threatening.”

Based on statements from the victim and witnesses, a suspect was identified and later located at 526 North Greenwood Street and was arrested without incident.

Marcus Sturgis, 36, was taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center and is facing preliminary charges of felonious assault. He was also booked on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
