For his Eagle Scout project, Jacob Deem is organizing a 5k race to benefit the Marion Area Humane Society. The Dog Days 5k race is set for September 21, 2013 at 9:00am in the parking of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1725 Marion Edison Road in Marion.
Registration is $20. Because the event is benefiting the Humane Society, pets can also be brought and run in the race. In addition, a 1/2 mile kids race will also be held.
There will also be pets on hand that are available for adoption. Donations of cleaning supplies would also be greatly appreciated.
