High School Vehicle Inspection Finds 87 Percent with Issues

AAA was at Marion Harding High School on Friday, September 27, to inspect students’ vehicles and discuss safe driving practices. AAA technicians inspected 56 student vehicles and found that more than 87 percent had at least one failure.

The most common issues technicians ran across were uneven tire pressure and low oil levels.

Failures identified by AAA inspectors included:

  • General – 9
    Windshield, Wipers, Horn, Mirrors
  • Lights –23
    Headlights, Parking, Taillights
  • Tires – 29
    Tire Pressure, Tread Depth
  • Lubricants – 28
    Washer Fluid, Oil, Power Steering, Coolant
  • Battery – 18
    Carrier, Cables, Hold-Down, Terminals
  • Belts –2
    Serpentine, Air Conditioning, Power Steering
  • Hoses – 0
    Heater, By-Pass, Radiator

In addition to receiving inspections, the students also signed a pledge to not text and drive. This event is part of a series of inspections taking place at schools throughout AAA Ohio Auto Club’s territory.
