Senior Center to Host “The Harding Trail” Day Trip

Warren HardingA few seats remain available for the Marion Senior Center’s “The Harding Trail” day trip. Due to expressed local interest, the Center is extending an open invitation to the public to join us for this historic day trip. Participants will depart the Marion Senior Center at 8:00 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 to spend the day traveling through “the land of Harding” via chartered bus.

Sherry Hall, site manager of the Harding Home, will be serving as tour guide for this trip.

The guided tour will begin in Blooming Grove, Ohio, where President Warren G. Harding was born and went to grade school. Next participants will venture to Iberia, Ohio where Harding attended church and also Ohio Central College. The tour bus will then travel to Caledonia, Ohio where Harding’s family resided during his formative years. After enjoying a leisurely picnic lunch in the covered shelter at McKinley Park, the final destination will be Marion, Ohio, where the tour group will visit the site of President Harding’s home and the Harding Memorial.

Cost for this trip is $45 for Marion Senior Center Members and $55 for Non-Members, which includes lunch. This trip will be limited to 52 participants.
