Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol says they are investigating a crash that killed a Marion man Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Route 203 and State Route 95.
The crash involved a 2003 Dodge Ram truck driven by Joel R. Crosley of Washington Court House and a 1992 Chevrolet 3500 truck driven by George T. Underwood of Marion.
Troopers say that preliminary investigation indicates that Crosley was traveling northbound on State Route 203 approaching the intersection with State Route 95 when he failed to stop at the stop sign. Underwood was traveling westbound on State Route 95 approaching 203. The Patrol says Underwood struck Crosley’s truck in the passenger side causing both vehicles to travel off the northwest corner of the roadway and into a field.
Crosley was transported to Marion General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His passenger, James B. Crosley, was transported to Grant Medical Center by Med Flights with serious injuries.
The Patrol says that Underwood was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Marc Comianos.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, New Vision Fire Department, and ODOT. The crash remains under investigation.
