Speaker to Share Personal Story, No Reason to Live

Scott MasonFairpark Community Baptist Church will host speaker Scott Mason on Sunday, October 20, 2013. Mason will share his message, entitled No Reason to Live, describing his personal journey from prison to the cross.

On the surface, Mason says he had everything going for him growing up. His parents were professional, successful, and involved in his life. Mason, however, had other plans for his life and, after being kicked out of three different high schools over a period of two years, education was not his top priority.

At 19, Mason was introduced to a whole new life, one that he had heard about, but never experienced. This life was filled with drugs, alcohol, sex and theft. In only a few short months, he became addicted to this lifestyle and had no idea how fast it would take him down.

Mason was committed to 2 psychiatric hospitals, arrested over 25 times (2 times by SWAT), appeared before 15 judges in 12 courts, was tried and convicted of 35 felonies, and spent 10 years in 16 prisons where he became a ranking gang member for a powerful prison gang. One night while attending an event in a prison chapel, Mason says his life was forever changed.

In his graphic personal story, Mason tells of a time where drugs, alcohol, sex, attempted suicide, crime and prison ruled his life, and how two men, one hung on a cross for him, and the other doing life in prison completely changed his life.

The public is invited to hear Mason’s personal journey from prison to the cross.

The presentation begins at 6:30 pm. Fairpark Community Baptist Church is located at 940 Bermuda Drive in Marion.
