Suspect Sought in an Attempted Robbery, Shooting

Marion County SheriffThe Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect that allegedly shot a man during an attempted robbery Monday evening. Deputies responded to the 500 block of Euclid Avenue after a female caller reported a shooting at 7:18pm on October 28, 2013.

Upon arrival, deputies located the shooting scene along with a male victim who had sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The victim told deputies that the suspect wanted to rob him, but nothing was reported stolen.

Investigators say the suspect is believed to be from Marion. He was described as a white male, 6’3″-6’4″ tall, medium build, wearing a brown/tan Carhart jacket and black bandanna concealing his face. The suspect has a tear drop tattoo under one of his eyes.

The suspect fled the area on foot.

Sheriff Tim Bailey cautioned that this suspect is considered armed and dangerous and people should not try to confront him on their own. Instead, Sheriff Bailey asks that anyone with information concerning this incident or recognizes the description of the suspect to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at (740)382-8244 or anonymously call the Marion Crime Tip Line at (740)387-TIPS.
