The Marion County Recycling & Litter Prevention’s 4th Annual Eco-Art Show is today as part of America Recycles Day events on Friday, November 15. Angela Carbetta says that over 50 green artists and crafters will be showing and selling beautiful, useful items made from materials that would have otherwise been thrown away.
The show runs from 12 noon until 7:00pm at the Marion Palace Theatre’s May Pavilion in downtown Marion.
“Folks really need to see this stuff to believe it—adorable mittens repurposed from shrunken wool sweaters, cool furniture up-cycled from broken pallets and steel barrels, burned out light bulbs turned into pretty tree ornaments, discarded men’s ties sewn into darling hair bows, repurposed greeting cards, scrap metal sculptures, recycled glass art, reclaimed wood birdfeeders, silverware jewelry, hand-woven scrap rugs, and so much more,” said Carbetta, director of Marion County Recycling and Litter Prevention.
“It’s a great opportunity to find that perfect, unique holiday gift, plus, it’s just a lot of fun to look around.”
In addition to the art and crafts, there will be food available including Patrick Upp’s wood-fired pizza, theatre popcorn, and The Candy Shack & Sarah Robinson’s Sweet Surrender Cookies. There will also be a cash bar.
