Newberry to join Central Baptist Church as Youth Minister

Warren NewberryCentral Baptist Church has called Warren Newberry to fill the newly created position of youth minister, effective in mid-January. In his new position at Central, Newberry will be responsible for ministry programs focused on middle and high school youth and their families.

Rev. Ryan Strother, pastor at Central Baptist, said Newberry’s appointment represents an even stronger focus on the church’s youth ministry.

“We are excited about adding Warren to our staff because of the opportunities we will have to minister more effectively to a specific generation in dire need of the message of hope through Jesus Christ!  Given the difficulties that teenagers and their families in Marion County face, Warren’s leadership in this ministry area will be a tremendous asset for our community,” Rev. Strother said.

Newberry is a 2013 graduate of Campbellsville University (Campbellsville, Ky.), where he received a bachelor’s degree in educational ministries.  While at Campbellsville, Newberry was named a Governor’s Scholar and served as a Presidential Ambassador for the university.  His studies included Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Small Group “Innovative” Ministry, as well as Biblical Greek and Hebrew.

Newberry met his wife, Kimberley, at Campbellsville and the couple married in September of this year.

Rev. Strother says Central Baptist Church, 2816 Marion-Waldo Road, has remained steadfast on proclaiming God’s Word and seeing lives changed by Jesus for more than 30 years. Sunday morning activities begin with a prayer time at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday School classes at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
