OhioHealth has announced that Julie Tome, MD, MBA, CPE, has been appointed vice president of Medical Affairs for the North Central Region. The hospitals she will support include OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital and Morrow County Hospital. Dr. Tome is responsible for providing clinical leadership support and administrative guidance for these hospitals and their medical staffs, as well as serving as a mentor to new medical staff members and clinical leaders.
Dr. Tome comes to OhioHealth from ProMedica, a not-for-profit regional health system serving northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan. As vice president of Medical Operations and Clinical Integration at ProMedica, she served as executive lead both for medical operations within the ProMedica Physicians Group and system-wide medical operations and clinical integration. Before that, she was executive director of ProMedica’s Accountable Care Organization and its subsidiaries.
Dr. Tome also spent several years at MedCentral Health System, where she assumed roles of increasing responsibility. She also was president and a managing partner of Anesthesia Associates of Mansfield, Inc.; served on the medical staff of the Division of Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic Foundation; and was director of education and, before that, director of Medical Student Programs, Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Tome received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. She completed her postgraduate training in Anesthesiology and her fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesiology at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as her fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. She completed her MBA at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Isenberg School of Management and graduate course work in Educational Research Methodology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Education.
