Bev Ford, Marion Palace Theatre Executive Director, has announced the appointment of two new board members to the Palace Cultural Arts Association (PCAA) Board of Directors. Logan Markward and Emily Yaksic were recently elected to serve a three-year term on the PCAA Board.
Markward is a Commercial Lender with United Bank. A graduate of Tiffin University, Markward is an active member at the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, The Marion Young Professionals and St. Mary’s Catholic Church and volunteers with United Way of Marion.
For fifteen years, Yaksic has been actively involved with local productions at the Marion Palace Theatre. She recently graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Theatre Education and is currently employed as a preschool teacher at Liberty Community Center in Delaware, Ohio. Yaksic shares, “I am excited to have this wonderful opportunity to serve on the PCCA Board and share my passion for the importance of the theatrical arts.”
Markward and Yaksic will join the current board comprised of Jeff Baldauf, Dr. James Barney, Dan Dreher, Andy Harper, Luke Henry, Scott Hoffman, Sue Jacob, Nancy Johnson, Rhea Kaiser, David Kasmenn, John Keggan, Carolyn Kile, Scott Ruth, Tom Schifer, Dave Strzalka and Mike Stuckey.
Candidates are selected by committee through a nomination process, presented to the PCAA board for a vote of approval and elected by a majority vote of PCAA members. No board member may serve longer than 8 consecutive years.
The PCAA board is a volunteer board that meets on a monthly basis, whose work includes fulfillment of the PCAA mission: to foster appreciation, education and participation in the arts while preserving and promoting the historic Palace Theatre.
