Marion General Hospital is offering Health Awareness Profiles (HAPs) through May 3, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. to noon at Marion Centre (formerly Southland Mall), located at 1509 Marion-Waldo Road in Marion. This screening is available for $20 and can be done without a physician prescription or order.
The process is “quick and easy,” and provides personal results for more than 15 blood tests. Organizers say it’s important to know these results and discuss them with your doctor.
Prior to the blood test, an eight to 10 hour fast is necessary for accurate results – no eating, chewing gum or candy. You can take your medications with moderate amounts of water.
No appointment is necessary; participants must be at least 18 years old to participate. Please note that no physician orders or prescriptions for additional tests will be accepted at this testing location. Only cash or check payments will be accepted; no credit cards.
