State Capital Budget Sending Nearly $4 Million to Marion Projects

Late Wednesday night, Governor John Kasich signed a bill into law that allocates nearly $2.4 billion for repairs, maintenance and construction of publicly owned buildings and other infrastructure across Ohio. The new law will send nearly $4 million to Marion to pay for projects at the Palace Theatre, Harding Home, and the Marion campus.

Gov. John R. Kasich, who spoke Tuesday evening in Cleveland, signed the bill after he returned to Columbus. By signing the bill last night the governor ensured it will take effect July 1, the first day of the state’s new fiscal year. A ceremonial signing was planned for later Thursday.

The allocation to Marion projects included:

  • Marion Technical College – $1,000,000 for Roof & Electrical Repairs
  • Harding Home State Memorial – $250,000
  • Marion Palace Theatre – $731,000
  • Ohio State University – $1,850,000 for Roof & Electrical Repairs
