Marion Chamber Cuts Ribbon for Shovel City Crawlers

Ribbon Cutting CrawlersThe Marion Area Chamber of Commerce recently cut the ribbon at the home of the Shovel City Crawlers as they work to restore professional baseball to the greater Marion area. The Crawlers say they are in the business of winning and are focused solely on raising the IBL (Independent Baseball League) championship trophy come late July.

Due to complications, Crawlers baseball transitioned from Lincoln Park Field to Elgin High School, but said they are thrilled at their new home.

Owner, Brian Dutton; G.M., Charles Sarnak; Assistant G.M., Karlyle Whitley and the Crawlers players would especially like to thank, Drew Kirby and the Elgin HS administration for their “tremendous support and stellar facilities.”
