The public is invited to “join the movement” as some of the community’s most “inspirational thinkers and innovative business leaders” take the stage to inspire and influence how we each view Marion and engage our community to instill pride in Marion. The 2013/2014 Leadership Marion! class invites you to “It’s Time” on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 6:35pm in Tri-Rivers Career Center’s (TRCC) Multi-Purpose Room.
Leadership Marion! is a comprehensive program designed to prepare the community’s next generation of leaders and explores essential building blocks of the Marion community, from education, business and government to health care and social services.
“From day one, this year’s Leadership Marion! class has felt touched by a strong sense of pride in our community. This resulted in their desire to share that pride with a wider audience,” said Pam Hall, Executive Director of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event will include catering by Special Occasions, and DJ services will be provided by Ichor Entertainment. Event sponsors include Commercial Savings Bank, Fahey Bank, OhioHealth Marion General Hospital, Morral Companies, North Central Correctional Complex, Sika Corp., Sims Recycling, and United Bank.
“As we witnessed through the 2013/2014 Leadership Marion! Class what the community has to offer, we discussed how Marion is transforming into a community we are all proud of. As citizens and leaders in our community our mission is to inspire, involve and influence the attitudes of those around us to catch this intense energy,” says class member Nick VanMeter of Sims Recycling.
The message is one of unity and success, awareness and problem solving. The goal is to INSPIRE, INFORM, and INVOLVE others in the overwhelming power of what can be done when the community comes together with one purpose. Part of the evening’s event will highlight volunteer organizations that are part of the community transformation.
A video highlighting Marion will be unveiled at the event and a preview of that video is available below.
Fahey Bank’s Kim Price notes, “Our goal is to get everyone in Marion to truly think about how they view and talk about the community. There are a lot of genuinely good things going on here, but we each need to be invested in the growth and positive progress. We think this event will be a unique and fun way to do just that.”
There is no cost to attend the event, but reservations are requested for catering purposes. Please call the Chamber office at 740-382-2181 or e-mail [email protected] to make reservations.
