MARMET Seizes Ecstasy, Xanax and Crack

MARMETOn Tuesday, May 27, 2014 around 4:00 p.m., detectives from the MARMET Drug Task Force said they seized 200 Ecstasy pills, 80 Xanax pills and 6 grams of crack. These drugs have a street value of about $4750.

A male suspect was arrested, but detectives said he has given multiple names and they are still trying to positively identify him. He was arrested and taken to the Multi-County Correction Center and to face multiple counts of possession of drugs.

“We are grateful that these dangerous drugs are off our streets before they were sold,” said Lt. Chris Adkins of the MARMET Drug Task Force.

In high doses, Ecstasy can interfere with the body’s ability to regulate temperature. On rare but unpredictable occasions, this can lead to a sharp increase in body temperature (hyperthermia), resulting in liver, kidney, and cardiovascular system failure, and death.
