The 2014 Marion Popcorn Festival royalty will be chosen in the coming weeks and a series of informational meetings has been set for this Sunday, June 29, for anyone interested in participating in the Little Wee Pop, Wee Pop, Teeny Pop, and Teen Popcorn pageants. Parents of contestants are encouraged to attend, as well.

All Marion Popcorn Festival pageants are open to contestants who live, work or go to school in Marion, Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Morrow, Union, or Wyandot counties.
The 2014 royalty will receive prize packages, be highlighted on the Festival’s main stage, take part in the Orville Redenbacher Parade, and represent the Marion Popcorn Festival at local and statewide events throughout the coming year.

Little Wee Pop Pageant

Contestant eligibility: boys and girls, aged 0 – 23 months

Competition requirements: formalwear, and costume & swimwear with a popcorn theme

There is a fee to enter each pageant, and complete information with entry forms can be found on the Festival’s web site at www.popcornfestival.com.
There is also a separate photogenic contest associated with many of the pageants. Entry in the photogenic contest is not contingent upon entering the associated pageant, and the results of one portion do not affect the other part of the pageant except as part of the Little Wee Pop.
Main stage entertainment for 2014 includes Panama: the Van Halen Tribute Band on Thursday, September 4; country star Craig Morgan on Friday, September 5; and classic rock band Night Ranger on Saturday, September 6.
