Marion Matters is holding their first major fundraiser this Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Marion Palace Theare’s May Pavilion. The Summer Bar-B-Q Bash kicks off at 5:00pm and will feature live music from The Menus along with pulled pork sliders, chicken quarters, and various side dishes.
In addition to the food and music, attendees will have a chance at winning the $10,000 prize drawing. Organizers say there is a 1-in-300 chance of winning the cash.
Marion Matters works with local residents to break the cycle of poverty through education, support, and volunteer mentors.
Tickets are $100 per couple and include the dinner, entertainment, and drawing. There will also be a cash bar for beverages.
Tickets can be purchased at the Marion Community Credit Union (810 Kenton Avenue and 300 Barks Road East) or from Marion Matters Board Members.
