Local Volunteers are Fishing for Litter on Saturday

River SweepMarion County Recycling and Litter Prevention will host “Fishing for Litter River Sweep” this Saturday, July 19, 2014. From 9:00am to 11:00am, they will be walking the Scioto River starting at the Hillman Ford Bridge at Pleasant Hill Road.

“We need volunteers to help keep local drinking water sources free of litter,” said Director Angela Carbetta. “Enjoy a nice hike along the river!”

Trash bags, nets, work gloves, and water bottles will be provided.

The cleanup is sponsored by Aqua Ohio, Ohio EPA, Marion County Soil & Water Conservation District, DKMM Solid Waste District, and Keep Marion County Beautiful.
