The Steve Young Memorial Lodge, Marion County Fraternal Order of Police has begun its annual telephone solicitation program for 2014. Area residents may receive telephone calls seeking donations to help fund the important programs sponsored by the FOP in the community, such as the Cops and Kids program where local law enforcement officers take under privileged Marion children on a Christmas shopping spree.
“This is a legitimate local fundraiser and not a telephone scam,” stated Christy Utley, FOP President.
Utley said they are expecting their program to go smoothly as usual, but if any questions or complaints arise, residents should contact her at 740-382-8244 extension 206.
“The law enforcement officers in Marion County would like to thank the citizens who have supported this fundraiser in the past and we are hopeful for another successful fundraiser in 2014 so that we may continue to make a positive impact on our community,” said Utley.
