United Federal Credit Union officially unveiled its newly remodeled Marion West branch to community leaders, dignitaries and representatives from the media at a Grand Re-Opening celebration on Wednesday, July 30 and to Members at a special cookout on Friday, August 1, 2104. The $500,000 renovation project began last fall and includes new teller lines, new ceilings, lighting and floors, a Member waiting area with coffee and internet café, and enclosed Member Service Advisor (MSA) offices to allow for more privacy and confidentiality for Members.
“Members are very excited about the remodel,” said Robin Schelb, Marion West Branch Manager. “The branch feels much more inviting to walk into since the updates have been completed. Members especially enjoy the privacy that the new MSA offices now provide.”
Several exterior improvements were made to the branch as well. A new drive thru lane was created along with the addition of a new ATM. Also, the ramp area and steps leading to the front door have been completely reworked for improved accessibility into the branch.
“It has been amazing to see the transformation of our Marion West branch,” said UFCU Market Vice President Brett Wier. “We were able to coordinate the remodeling work in a way that did not involve closing the branch. Our Members really seemed to enjoy seeing the progress being made.”
The UFCU staff will also benefit from a new board room that can comfortably seat a large group and a training room where they can keep their customer service skills sharp.
“The staff feels proud to work in this branch and are happy to show off all of the updates,” said Schelb. “We are committed to investing in this great community and taking care of our Members.”
Over 100 Members attended Friday’s cookout for food and prizes, as the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) grilled up over 150 hot dogs. Members using the updated drive thru were even served food and refreshments.
