Oliver and Kendall Named Little Wee Pop Prince and Princess

Twenty-eight contestants vied for the title of Marion Popcorn Festival’s 2014 Little Wee Pop Prince and Princess at River Valley High School Saturday morning.  Little Wee Pop is designed for children aged 0 – 23 months.

The 2014 Prince is Oliver Schwartz, who also captured the Formalwear Award in his age division.  He is the son of Caleb and Morgan Schwartz of Marion.

The 2014 Princess is Kendall Carter.  She is the daughter of Thaddeaus and Kendra Carter of Marion.  Carter won her age division in Formalwear.

Receiving Runner-Up awards were Brantley Hall for prince and Kayann Nelson for princess.  Hall is the son of Dustin and Casey Hall.  Nelson, who also took Overall Formalwear, is the daughter of Elisha and Bobbie Jo Nelson.

The 2014 Little Wee Pops will be featured on the Main Stage of the Marion Popcorn Festival.  They will also ride in the Festival’s Orville Redenbacher Parade, and represent the Marion Popcorn Festival at various parades and events throughout the state.

Receiving honorable mention awards were:  Annabelle Blair Buchanan, Jaylynn Chapman, Lily Betts, Emma Charles, Swayze Carlyle, Kingston Holman, Makinzee McBeth, Paysleigh Kennedy, Gracie Walter, Andromeda Silva, Aa’RahJah Brownridge, Elizabeth L. Fassler, Savannah R. Guadarrama, JaKaiden Aldridge, Kurerra Vernon, Keelan “KJ” Vernon, Gracie Lynn Newell, Kayleigh Banks, Cambrie Rae Fox, Kinslee Miller, and Bentley Lohr.

Pageant Director Jamie Williams expressed how well the day went. “I can’t imagine being a judge,” said Williams, “everyone of this kids had a good chance to win.   My thanks to each and every parent who entered.”
