This funny and romantic musical is about a boy, a girl, two fathers and a wall. The audience travels into a world of moonlight and magic and sees the boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart, and finally find their way back to each other.
There were two hits to come out of the show, ”Try To Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.”
The show will be performed in the May Pavilion in a three-quarter fashion where audience members experience an up-close and personal interaction with the actors. Director Greg Patterson has chosen a talented cast sure to delight audiences.
Cast as young romantic Luisa is Lorna Patterson who falls in love with the adventurous boy-next-door (Matt) portrayed by Marion native, Matt Meade. The boy’s father (Hucklebee) is played by Brett Gleespen and Luisa’s father (Bellomy) is Palace stage veteran Brad Bebout.
Providing an element of comedy in the musical is new-comer Zach Gleespen as Henry, an over-the-top Thespian and the talented Danielle Knight as Henry’s goofy sidekick, Mortimer who specializes in a variety of attention-grabbing stage deaths. Rounding out the cast will be Mike Cochran as El Gallo, the charming narrator of the show.
One of the production’s most animated performances is to be delivered by Olivia Brazell, Mallory Gleespen, Becky Boles and Tara Fink as the silent characters/stage assistants, appropriately named “Mute.” During the production, the characters imaginatively portray the wall that separates the young lovers and throw a collection of props to the stage actors.
Under the direction of Greg Patterson, musical direction of Daniel Bradshaw, choreography of Kim Bradshaw, and set design by Adam Radloff and Steve Beltz, this production is guaranteed to cool off and delight Marion Palace audiences during the Dog Days of August.
