OhioHealth Marion General Hospital has named Joy Bischoff, MSN, RN, as Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Patient Care, effective September 8, 2014. As a result of her years of service at OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital, Bischoff brings to Marion General a wealth of knowledge and experience in many aspects of hospital services and within the OhioHealth system.
Bischoff joins Marion General from Hardin Memorial Hospital where she has served as the Chief Nursing Officer since 2011. In that role she was responsible for the overall delivery and management of nursing practice, nursing education and professional development of the nursing staff. She was strategically involved with regulatory and compliance issues relating to The Joint Commission Survey for Laboratory Services and Critical Access Hospitals, as well as the Ohio Department of Health Validation Survey for Critical Access Hospitals in 2014.
In addition to her experience as Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Manager for Medical Surgical Services at Hardin Memorial, Bischoff has held the role of Adjunct Clinical Nursing Professor for Ohio Northern University and Rhodes State College.
She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio Northern University, having first earned her associate degree in nursing from Lima Technical College.
