Groundbreaking Celebration Set for New Road, Science Building, and Apartments at Marion Campus

Ohio State University at MarionExpanded academic space for science & engineering, student housing, and a new road through campus have come to reality, at virtually the same time.

The Ohio State University at Marion in partnership with The Annex of Marion, Marion County Engineer’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Marion Technical College invite the public to a Three-Way Groundbreaking Celebration, Wednesday, November 12th, 3 p.m., on the Marion campus in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room.

The event signifies the launch of three important projects on the campus: Ohio State Marion’s Science & Engineering Building; the long awaited University Drive extension, which will serve as a major access point onto campus and a key traffic artery for the Marion community; and construction of privately developed student housing adjacent to campus.

The combined investment for the three projects totals approximately $23 million.

“Each of these is a major milestone for the Marion area and our campus,” said Dr. Gregory S. Rose, Dean and Director of The Ohio State University at Marion.

“Together, they will have significant educational and economic impacts on our campus and the community, and bring new opportunities for our students,” Rose added.
