The annual Pop N Drop will ring in the New Year in Downtown Marion on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. The free event will feature singing, dancing, popcorn, and hot chocolate starting at 10:00pm with fireworks and a ball drop at the stroke of midnight.
It all takes place in the parking lot at 172 West Center Street (next to Apex Church and across from Chase Bank, just west of Prospect Street).
Activities will include:
- Marion Community Credit Union is bringing Fetch and glow in the dark gifts
- Hometown Talent is bringing Samantha Howard to DJ and sing and Hunter Boyce and Elizabeth Corwin will also sing
- Studio X (from Downtown Marion) will bring their senior dancers
- Hot Chocolate from Touch of Sass (inside The Marketplace, 190 West Center Street)
- Free popcorn from The Marion Popcorn Festival
At midnight the ball will drop from about 50 feet in the air from the Marion Amateur Radio Club tower. The drop will feature fireworks and “silver sparkling waterfall” from Scott Croskey and Dick Miller and a Confetti Cannon from Marion Community Credit Union.
