Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey recently announced the 2014 selection for Deputy of the Year is Colin Lowe, who has been with the sheriff’s office since July of 2012.
Deputy Lowe began his career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in July of 2012 as an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff. He was an active member of the Auxiliary which led to him becoming a fulltime deputy sheriff with the sheriff’s office in December of 2012.
“Deputy Lowe is an exceptional employee for the sheriff’s office and is proud to work in a county where he was raised,” stated Sheriff Bailey.
Deputy Lowe is currently assigned to the road patrol division of the sheriff’s office but is also an active member of the sheriff’s office tactical unit. Deputy Lowe has also assisted in the MARMET Drug Task Force and the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division.
Prior to coming to the sheriff’s office Deputy Lowe was an analyst for MARMET and also worked as a probation officer for the Marion County Adult Probation Department.
Deputy Lowe is a graduate of River Valley and he earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Criminal Justice at Tiffin University where he majored in Law Enforcement and Homeland Security/Terrorism.
