Officer Reed began his career with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Marion Police Department in 1999. He has spent his career on patrol and as a member of the Special Response Team.

“Officer Reed was selected due to his daily efforts on second shift,” stated Major Jon Shaffer in a media release. “He is well-respected by his peers and supervisors and never hesitates to lend assistance when needed.”

Patrick began with the police department in 2010. Since then, she has been honored as the Civilian of the Year for the police department in 2011 and as the City of Marion Employee of the Year in 2012.

Patrick currently has the duties of the Administrative Secretary as well as the Records Clerk. She also takes care of all quartermaster duties for the entire department.

“Patrick is asked to do a lot and does so with a smile,” said Major Shaffer. “She does an excellent job as just one person for all of the jobs that used to be filled by several more people.”

Reed and Patrick were recognized recently at the FOPA Christmas Party.
