Police arrest man for robbing Marion drive thru

Marion Police DepartmentThe Marion Police Department said that a man was arrested for robbing a local drive thru Wednesday evening. Officers responded on January 28, 2015 at about 9:00pm to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Dew Drop Thru, 575 North Main Street.

Officers said they discovered that the suspect, armed with a knife, had fled the area on foot after robbing the business. The suspect had fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The Marion Police Department officers, with assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, said they were able to apprehend the suspect after a foot chase on the west end of the City of Marion.

Jake T. Watts III, 34 of Marion, was taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center on charges of Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Tampering with Evidence, and Resisting Arrest along with a local arrest warrant.

This case will be forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor for the filing of formal charges.
