Director Clare Cooke will hold auditions for the upcoming Marion Palace Theatre production of “Nunsense” in the May Pavilion on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm.
Cooke will be selecting adult women to fill five principal roles for the comedy musical. The show stars five wacky nuns as they present a variety show to raise money for 52 Sisters’ burials after being accidentally poisoned by the cook, Sister Julia (Child of God). Guaranteed to lift your spirits, “Nunsense” features hilarious characters, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises.
Auditioners should come dressed in casual clothing appropriate for performing choreography. Anyone interested in a principle role should also be prepared to read from the script and prepared to sing a solo. Auditioners are requested to select a one-minute Broadway-style audition tune. A pianist will be provided. No CDs please.
Performance dates for “Nunsense” in the Palace Theatre May Pavilion are on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 19 at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are available now for $15. The show is sponsored by OhioHealth and funded by the Ohio Arts Council.
