The Marion Palace Theatre is set to present Memoirs & Memories, a show intended to give the audience a behind the scenes look at musical theatre and some of their favorite Palace performers.
Show times are Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 adults and $12 children age 12 and younger.
For nearly 87 years, the Marion Palace Theatre has provided a second home and a creative outlet for hundreds of talented young actors, singers and dancers. Some of these individuals have moved on to pursue professional careers in music, stage and film while others have chosen to stay closer to home and deliver stunning performances on the Palace stage.
On February 28, a selection of Marion Palace Theatre veterans will give audience members an exclusive glimpse into the life of a performer as they take the stage to share stories and perform musical numbers related to their experiences.
The brainchild of director Brad Bebout, Memoirs and Memories will pull back the Palace curtain to reveal an intimate and more personal side to nine leading men and ladies from some of our most loved Palace Productions. Among those joining Bebout will be Upper Sandusky resident Ron Boose (Fagin/Oliver!), Bloomville resident Charles Groth (Rooster/Annie), and Marionites Bruce Cudd (Santa/Christmas at the Palace), Jessica Dyer (Glenda the Good Witch/Wizard of Oz), John W. Garnes, II (Nicely-Nicely/Guys & Dolls), Sara Grote (Elle/Legally Blonde), Ann Schertzer (M’Lynn/Steel Magnolias) and Kristi Wink (Miss Hannigan/Annie) to share their personal memoirs and memories of past theatre experiences. As audiences learn more about each of these individuals, their challenges, triumphs and their irrefutable passion and love for theatre, they will also be entertained by song, dance and instrumental numbers related to their theatre experiences.
Memoirs & Memories is sponsored by Marion Community Foundation Mary H. Hollaway Fund and Bebout Family Fund along with Dixon Group of Wells Fargo Advisors and Scharer Insurance. Media sponsors WMRN-AM, WMRN-FM, WYNT-FM.
