OhioHealth offering training for faith leaders to promote health in their communities

Marion General HospitalOhioHealth Marion General Hospital and OhioHealth MedCentral Hospital are offering training sessions for congregational volunteers or staff who would like to learn more about promoting health in their faith community. No medical background is necessary.

From February 17 through April 7, 2015, sessions take place on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn about the theological underpinning of health ministries; the nuts and bolts of setting up a congregational health ministry; nutrition and movement; caring for people before, during and after hospitalization; medical decision making and end of life planning, and more.

There is a $20 registration fee and training materials are provided. Certificates will be presented for attendance at six of the eight sessions and CEs* are offered for nurses.
