The Palace Cultural Arts Association will present a special Easter Celebration with the a cappella singing group NINE at the Marion Palace Theatre on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now for $15. Patrons are encouraged to order tickets early for the best seating.
Matt Holsinger (1st tenor), Titus Ritchey (baritone), Matt Craycraft (2nd tenor), Scott Forry (1st tenor), Luke Henry (bass), Scott Ruth (2nd tenor), Joe Blue (bass), Steve DeWeber (baritone/bass) and Wes Peters (baritone/bass) are the a capella singing group NINE. Behind the scenes is the tenth member of the group Bill Mankey (sound man).
NINE first arrived on the local scene in 2011 getting their start by singing for their congregation at Marion‘s First Church of the Nazarene. Over the last four years, they received rave reviews for their holiday acts during “Christmas at the Palace,” performed the National Anthem at the Cincinnati Reds game in 2012 and presented their first full scale show in 2014 on the Palace stage.
Using only their voices, the group creates a “well-blended, captivating sound” with no instrumental accompaniment. They collectively select songs that are inspirational and entertaining, and, most importantly to them, that glorify God.
Busy with full-time jobs and juggling 9 different schedules often proves to be a challenge for the men, but NINE stays true to their roots and their mission to honor God through music. The group shares,
“We believe God gave us our different talents and brought us together, so we try to use our gifts to glorify him.”
Reserved seating is $15 and tickets may be purchased during box office hours (9am-5pm Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) at the Palace Theatre, 276 W. Center Street, Downtown Marion. Patrons may also charge tickets by phone (740) 383-2101 or order anytime online at www.marionpalace.org
NINE is funded by the Ohio Arts Council and sponsored by Verne Hart Insurance. Media sponsor WMRN-AM and WYNT-FM.
