On April 20, 2015 around 5:30 p.m., MARMET detectives, with the assistance of deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Marion Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 1900 block of Marion-Mt. Gilead Road. Officials said the search warrant led to the discovery of drugs and cash as well as two arrests.
Officials said that approximately 43 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 25 grams of heroin were located in the search warrant, removing about $9,300.00 in drugs from the streets of Marion County. Also seized was $537 in cash.
Ian L. Conley, 43, of Columbus, and William A. McDuffie, 31, of Marion, were arrested for felony level drug crimes. They were transported to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await formal charges from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
“Drug overdoses kill more people in Ohio than traffic crashes and we know, at least, these drugs will not kill anyone in our community,” said Major Jay McDonald of the MARMET Drug Task Force. “MARMET will continue to work in partnership with the community to take these dangerous drugs off our streets.”
