The Marion Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has been in the business of marketing Marion as a destination for the past 30 years. The Marion Area CVB existence started with a resolution by the Board of Marion County Commissioners on November 20, 1984 to commence collecting bed tax on January 1, 1985. The bed tax collected created a revenue stream to promote Marion, Ohio as a destination. And the Marion Area CVB has been doing just that for the past 30 years.
To honor those years, the public is invited to stop by the Marion Area CVB’s Open House at 1713 Marion Mt. Gilead Road on Friday, August 7, 2015. The Open House is an opportunity for the community to stop by the Welcome Center facilities, take a tour, peruse Ohio travel literature and enter for a door prize drawing.
The Marion Area CVB’s mission is dedicated to promoting the Marion Area’s many historical and unusual attractions, with the purpose being to bring economic growth to the Marion Area.
